Gayle and Mom have arrived in Grand Rapids, and now the vacation really begins!
A full breakfast, sunshine through the kitchen windows, a shopping spree to find things for Jenni, a walk along Reed's Lake, a lively roast chicken dinner with all the students, and then off to the airport, courtesy of Abdullah!
No missed passports, no long security lines, no inclement weather. We have boarded our plane in Detroit ahead of everyone else, thanks to Mom's walker. I like traveling with her, especially because of the privileged status. Here we are, relaxing before the hordes of tourists swarm on board.
We've had our hot milk steamers from Starbucks, we've taken our vitamins and aspirin and melatonin, and now we're praying for sleep to come. Otherwise it will be a long night....
